Both individual and business travelers are becoming increasingly conscious of their environmental and social responsibilities, aiming to reduce their carbon footprint while still recognizing the necessity of travel. Some companies have even integrated carbon reduction requirements into their corporate event policies.

At Forecepts, we have consistently designed our platform to display carbon emission information on both the flight results and flight review screens.

Our initial approach relied on carbon emission data provided by the APIs of individual GDSs. However, this came with certain limitations:

Different GDSs may use varying algorithms, leading to discrepancies in carbon estimates even for the same flight.

Our solution also connects with NDCs and LCCs, which typically do not provide carbon emission data through their APIs

In 2024, Google introduced the Travel Impact Model and began promoting its adoption among major industry players such as Google Flights, Skyscanner, Booking.com, Expedia, and Sabre.

We have now integrated the Google Travel Impact Model as the standard source for flight carbon emission data, ensuring consistent results across our leisure booking website, corporate booking tool, and mid-office solutions.
